Plastic Bank 1

Plastic Bank is a for-profit social enterprise founded and based in Vancouver, British Columbia, that builds recycling ecosystems in under-developed communities in an effort to fight both plastic pollution in oceans, as well as high poverty levels in developing countries. The company allows people living in poverty to collect plastic and trade it in for material goods such as school tuition, medical insurance, pharmaceutical access, internet access, and cooking fuel, with the aim of adding more benefits to their program in the future. Plastic Bank reprocesses collected plastics for reintroduction into the supply chain. They currently have operations in the Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, and Egypt, with plans to expand into Colombia and Vietnam in the coming years

Effects of plastic on oceans

As of 2016[update] it was estimated that there was approximately 150 million tonnes of plastic pollution in the world's oceans, estimated to grow to 250 million tonnes in 2025. Another study estimated that in 2012, it was approximately 165 million tonnes. The Ocean Conservancy reported that China, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam dump more plastic in the sea than all other countries combined. Still another scientific study based on material flow analysis estimated that there is a stock of 86 million tons of plastic marine debris in the worldwide ocean as of the end of 2013, assuming that 1.4% of global plastics produced from 1950 to 2013 has entered the ocean and has accumulated there. One study estimated that there are more than 5 trillion plastic pieces (defined into the four classes of small microplastics, large microplastics, meso- and macroplastics) afloat at sea. The litter that is being delivered into the oceans is toxic to marine life, and humans. The toxins that are components of plastic include diethylhexyl phthalate, which is a toxic carcinogen, as well as lead, cadmium, and mercury. Plankton, fish, and ultimately the human race, through the food chain, ingest these highly toxic carcinogens and chemicals. Consuming the fish that contain these toxins can cause an increase in cancer, immune disorders, and birth defects.[failed verification] The majority of the litter near and in the ocean is made up of plastics and is a persistent pervasive source of marine pollution. According to Dr. Marcus Eriksen of The 5 Gyres Institute, there are 5.25 trillion particles of plastic pollution that weigh as much as 270,000 tonnes (2016). This plastic is taken by the ocean currents and accumulates in large vortexes known as ocean gyres. The majority of the gyres become pollution dumps filled with plastic. Sources of ocean-based plastic pollutionIn October 2019, when research revealed most ocean plastic pollution comes from Chinese cargo ships, an Ocean Cleanup spokesperson said: "Everyone talks about saving the oceans by stopping using plastic bags, straws and single use packaging. That's important, but when we head out on the ocean, that's not necessarily what we find." Almost 20% of plastic debris that pollutes ocean water, which translates to 5.6 million tonnes, comes from ocean-based sources. MARPOL, an international treaty, "imposes a complete ban on the at-sea disposal of plastics". Merchant ships expel cargo, sewage, used medical equipment, and other types of waste that contain plastic into the ocean. In the United States, the Marine Plastic Pollution Research and Control Act of 1987 prohibits discharge of plastics in the sea, including from naval vessels. Naval and research vessels eject waste and military equipment that are deemed unnecessary. Pleasure crafts release fishing gear and other types of waste, either accidentally or through negligent handling. The largest ocean-based source of plastic pollution is discarded fishing gear (including traps and nets), estimated to be up to 90% of plastic debris in some areas. Continental plastic litter enters the ocean largely through storm-water runoff, flowing into watercourses or directly discharged into coastal waters. Plastic in the ocean has been shown to follow ocean currents which eventually form into what is known as Great Garbage Patches. Knowledge of the routes that plastic follows in ocean currents comes from accidental container drops from ship carriers. For example, in May 1990 The Hansa Carrier, sailing from Korea to the United States, broke apart due to a storm, ultimately resulting in thousands of dumped shoes; these eventually started showing up on the U.S western coast, and Hawaii. The impact of microplastic and macroplastic into the ocean is not subjected to infiltration directly by dumping of plastic into marine ecosystems, but through polluted rivers that lead or create passageways to oceans across the globe. Rivers can either act as a source or sink depending on the context. Rivers receive and gather majority of plastic but can also prevent a good percentage from entering the ocean. Rivers are the dominant source of plastic pollution in the marine environment contributing nearly 80% in recent studies. The amount of plastic that is recorded to be in the ocean is considerably less than the amount of plastic that is entering the ocean at any given time. According to a study done in the UK, there are "ten top" macroplastic dominant typologies that are solely consumer related (located in the table below). Within this study, 192,213 litter items were counted with an average of 71% being plastic and 59% were consumer related macroplastic items. Even though freshwater pollution is the major contributor to marine plastic pollution there is little studies done and data collection for the amount of pollution going from freshwater to marine. Majority of papers conclude that there is minimal data collection of plastic debris in freshwater environments and natural terrestrial environments, even though these are the major contributor. The need for policy change in production, usage, disposal, and waste management is necessary to decrease the amount and potential of plastic to enter freshwater environments. Land-based sources of ocean plastic pollutionEstimates for the contribution of land-based plastic vary widely. While one study estimated that a little over 80% of plastic debris in ocean water comes from land-based sources, responsible for 800,000 tonnes (880,000 short tons) every year. In 2015, Jambeck et al. calculated that 275 million tonnes (303 million short tons) of plastic waste was generated in 192 coastal countries in 2010, with 4.8 to 12.7 million tonnes (5.3 to 14 million short tons) entering the ocean - a percentage of only up to 5%. In a study published by Science, Jambeck et al (2015) estimated that the 10 largest emitters of oceanic plastic pollution worldwide are, from the most to the least, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh. A source that has caused concern is landfills. Most waste in the form of plastic in landfills are single-use items such as packaging. Discarding plastics this way leads to accumulation. Although disposing of plastic waste in landfills has less of a gas emission risk than disposal through incineration, the former has space limitations. Another concern is that the liners acting as protective layers between the landfill and environment can break, thus leaking toxins and contaminating the nearby soil and water. Landfills located near oceans often contribute to ocean debris because content is easily swept up and transported to the sea by wind or small waterways like rivers and streams. Marine debris can also result from sewage water that has not been efficiently treated, which is eventually transported to the ocean through rivers. Plastic items that have been improperly discarded can also be carried to oceans through storm waters. Plastic pollution in the Pacific OceanIn the Pacific Gyre, specifically 20°N-40°N latitude, large bodies with floating marine debris can be found. Models of wind patterns and ocean currents indicate that the plastic waste in the northern Pacific is particularly dense where the Subtropical Convergence Zone (STCZ), 23°N-37°N latitude, meets a southwest-northeast line, found north of the Hawaiian archipelago. In the Pacific, there are two mass buildups: the western garbage patch and the eastern garbage patch, the former off the coast of Japan and the latter between Hawaii and California. The two garbage patches are both part of the great Pacific garbage patch, and are connected through a section of plastic debris off the northern coast of the Hawaiian islands. It is approximated that these garbage patches contain 90 million tonnes (100 million short tons) of debris. The waste is not compact, and although most of it is near the surface of the pacific, it can be found up to more than 30 metres (100 ft) deep in the water. Research published in April 2017 reported "the highest density of plastic rubbish anywhere in the world" on remote and uninhabited Henderson Island in South Pacific as a result of the South Pacific Gyre. The beaches contain an estimated 37.7 million items of debris together weighing 17.6 tonnes. In a study transect on North Beach, each day 17 to 268 new items washed up on a 10-metre section.

The R.C. aircraft is usually, though not always, built with the body consisting of a lightweight plastic material such as PVC gutter downspout or an aluminium rail (Search for the plans of Big Ugly Hell on Rails ). The wings are made of an equally light material such as foam or coroplast. The remaining components added to the plane are virtually the same as can be found in any other R.C. aircraft of similar size. This concept of building simple radio controlled airplanes using cheap materials without the time consuming and painstaking process of working with balsa wood and iron-on plastic coating was popularized by a web site created in the late 1990s, While this web site, and the many original plans and articles still exist, SPADs are preferred to other materials because they are cheaper and are easy to work with, painting is not required, the plastic can optionally be decorated with vinyl sheets which are available in any signboard making shop at very cheap price. The hinges for the control surfaces can be made by sheering one of the twinwalls of the plastic sheet and no special hinging device is required. SPAD Modelers use corrugated plastic sheets of various thickness, such as 2 millimeter (like the flying wings or electric gliders for which 2mm sheet are preferred) and 4 millimeter. These sheets are generally used by signboard makers and many times, when these sheets are discarded, the modelers have a choice to use them to build model airplanes. The choice of propulsion can be either internal combustion engine or electric motors as with balsa counterparts. Corrugated plastic planes are simpler alternative to the traditional balsa wood based R.C. aircraft for a variety of situations. Most of the SPAD airplanes do not use balsa which saves considerable cost. They withstand crashes better than balsa counterparts because of their resilience and hence are a good choice for beginners. Good trainer planes and gliders can be made from SPADs. SPAD modelers make equally good advanced planes that can be made with corrugated plastic. They include: RC Airplane Combat, 3D Flying, and are preferred in places where the flyers would normally not risk a more expensive plane and yet want the same flying characteristics of balsa planes. For making a SPAD plane, the modeler (usually a beginner) can copy the dimensions of a well known balsa trainer and makes the SPAD plane using the same dimensions and adapting to the building techniques of a SPAD plane. The plane can also be built from plans or can be scratch built (usually, the modeler draws his/her own plans and makes the plane, though this is mostly attempted by experienced modelers)— — — — — —can you do lip tricks on a skateboard on the small plastic quarter pipes?go to a park...or a bench.....plastic its break easilly end up u gonna pay for the plastic— — — — — —Can you seal windows with plastic on the outside?I've put the plastic on the outside a few years back when they windows leaked water from an east blown rain (plastic on the inside did nothing to stop it). The Scope for Growth of the Plastics Industry in Gujarat, India
The Scope for Growth of the Plastics Industry in Gujarat, India
The objective of this article is to try and understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the developing the plastics industry in the Indian state of Gujarat.First and foremost, India ranks near the top when we talk of manpower, easy access to international markets, a stable economy, and it has the goodwill of foreign investors. By 2025, India will be the world's fifth largest consumer market and Indians will be spending close to $1.8 trillion on consumer goods.Packaging, healthcare, and agriculture sectors are witnessing a boom because of the country's growing economy. Plastics and polymers are a common factor across these industries and this has resulted in huge demand for plastics processing machinery as well as related equipment. The situation has attracted foreign players that are keen to invest in this sector in India. The plastics processing sector is going to soon witness the signing of a lot of joint ventures. The Indian state of Gujarat has emerged as the fastest growing economy in the country. Ahmedabad is the largest city in the state and was listed by Forbes in 2010 as the third fastest growing city in the world. Thus, the state of Gujarat which is already the largest polymer producer in the country is firmly set to play an important role in the developments mentioned above.Of course there will always be minor issues to iron out; for example sellers of European machinery being aware of opportunities as they arise in Gujarat and coming to terms with how business is done in India; the technicalities, documentations, etc. In order to take care of such things it is best to take the services of an established used machinery broker who knows how both Indian and European markets work.Indian plastics manufacturers based in Gujarat and elsewhere need to become more aware of the advantages of installing world-class European plastics machinery. Europe leads the world in the manufacture of high quality plastic molding equipment and even second-hand machinery, though expensive, yields great performance and returns over the years. Industry in Gujarat is beginning to understand that used machinery is not always the same as cheap machinery and that it makes business sense to distinguish between the two.Once this happens, there will be a marked improvement in the order conversion rate and there'll be a better balance between demand for used plastic processing machinery and its supply. This will happen when processors begin to realize first-hand the enormous cost savings and increase in production that comes with deploying highly automated European machinery. The plastics industry sector of Gujarat is committed to growth with environmental responsibility. In fact, the state of Gujarat recycles one-fourth of the plastic waste of the country; approximately around 5 lakh tonnes. The state has registered a very impressive growth every year in the production and utilization of plastic.Manufacturers in the state realize that the need of the hour is to make plastic as green a product as possible. Given that the state is the national hub of the chemical and petrochemical industry, it views its social and environmental responsibilities seriously.Buyers are also becoming aware of how to get the best out of used plastics machinery by having the machines refurbished when the need arises. There is now a greater understanding about how to deploy lower costing used machinery that is also energy efficient. The used machinery market in Gujarat is ripe for the entry of a professional broker that can bring together efficiencies of scale. Small traders dealing in used machinery operate under certain constraints, such as inability to secure loans for buyers, refurbishing, helping with documentation, etc. A large player in the field can get you quality machines at affordable prices; a true value proposition unlike bargain basement pricings that can appear attractive but do not yield long-term value for money.A broker with the size advantage can reach out to buyers across sectors such as beverage, agro-food, and dairy sector. Buyers can avail custom equipment as well. Small and mid-sized businesses have a lot to gain from by exploring purchases through an established machinery broking firm including the setting up of a turn-key project.Gujarat has great potential as a market and is attracting international players because of several factors in its favor; these include consistent electric power supply, road and rail connectivity, Special Economic Zones to facilitate industry, and a burgeoning polymer production industry.Foreign players that are planning to come to Gujarat will bring with them a wide range of choices including European, American, and Asian machinery. High productivity and low power consumption are very attractive attributes for manufacturing machinery across sectors and quality used machines fulfill these criteria.Entrepreneurs in India and the state of Gujarat are benefiting from a strong knowledge base that is developing due to the influx of new technology. A rich pool of technocrats is available that can put new knowledge to practice. Gujarat has everything going for it to become a great investment destination for the plastic machinery business.
Solving the Plastic Packaging Problem: Its Time for Industries and Governments to Play Their Part
Solving the Plastic Packaging Problem: Its Time for Industries and Governments to Play Their Part
Solving the plastic packaging problem: it’s time for industries and governments to play their partBy Wendell Chan, Project Officer, Friends of the Earth (HK) It is almost April 22nd, which means Earth Day is just around the corner. Since 1970, the annual event has raised awareness of a wide range of environmental issues. The theme for this year is to end plastic pollution, though it seems Hong Kong did not get the message. During Chinese New Year, festival goers decorated the streets with litter and turned overfilled waste bins into hills of rubbish. Among these heaps were many disposable plastic bags, bottles, and containers. Plastic waste is not a symptom unique to festivals either. Hong Kong buries over 2,100 tonnes of it in landfills daily - much of it packaging materials. Valued for its low cost, light weight, and the various properties that it can be imbued with, plastic is regarded as one of the most important inventions of the past century. Plastic packaging has transformed how food is delivered and distributed. Yet, 95 per cent of value in plastic packaging is estimated to be lost after the first use, amounting to as much as US$120 billion (HK$940 billion) of losses every year. Many disposable plastics, like films and straws, are already not disposed of properly. This has been exacerbated by China's ban on imported recyclable materials, and in Hong Kong by the new government recycling policy of accepting only code number 1 and 2 plastics. Even when they are recycled, these are notorious for recyclers as they get contaminated easily and some can jam sorting machines. Less than 15 per cent of the plastic waste we produce in Hong Kong is recycled - a bit better than the global average of 9 per cent. Some reckon doing without plastic is impossible and we should look to making plastics greener instead. Solutions include making bioplastics from corn, algae, or even food waste. Compared with their fossilised plant-based counterparts, these polymers utilise renewable resources. Some bioplastics are also biodegradable, making them useful for food packaging as they can be composted and avoid food contamination issues during recycling. But they have their problems. Like plastics, bioplastics are not a single item but a range of polymers. While bioplastics look and work like conventional plastics, they cannot be recycled together. Plant-based PLA plastics have a similar density to PET plastics, making them difficult to separate once mixed. To the public however, differentiating between #1 and #2 plastics is hard enough - let alone having to separate bioplastics and conventional plastics. Also, bioplastics are often confused with biodegradables. Not all bioplastics can biodegrade, and not all biodegradable plastics are bioplastics. Even for biodegradable bioplastics, most only break down in industrial composters. Bioplastics in the sea can be as devastating as conventional plastics. Bioplastics are not the cure-all to our appetite for plastic. Instead of just changing what we make plastics from, we can also change how we design them. We are good at engineering advanced plastic products, but rarely consider how they are handled at end-of-life. Take the black food trays used by supermarkets and restaurants for example. Black gives food items a stronger contrast. Unfortunately, it also makes the plastic trays hard to detect in traditional optical sorting machines, as the commonly-used carbon black pigments absorb infra-red light. Small pieces of plastic, such as straws, tear-offs, and wrappers, often get lost during collection and sorting. Most are too small to be filtered by machines and too costly to be sorted manually. Multilayer flexible packaging is an even bigger headache. Though touted as more sustainable because fewer resources are used to make it, it is mostly not recycled because each layer is different and has to be separated. Innovations can make it easier to recycle and reduce waste. Detectable chemical markers to identify the various plastic grades can make automated sorting easier. Packaging materials designed using a single polymer or compatible polymers can be recycled by existing machinery. Perhaps beyond all of this, we should reconsider our relationship with plastic, or more specifically, how we use it. The contribution of plastic packaging to the food industry is undeniable. It has drastically reduced the energy costs of production and transport, and extended the shelf life of perishable items. As with most things however, technology often outpaces society's ability to adapt. We have shorelines covered with plastic waste, no matter how many times they get cleaned up. What is not beached is trapped by ocean currents or in the stomachs of animals. It is estimated that the ocean will contain more plastic than fish by 2050. Plastic waste - and waste in general - is generally left for municipalities to handle. Unfortunately, this has encouraged cities to burn it. Cities have no interest in recovering resources when the goal of waste management is to keep a clean environment as cheaply as possible. The burden of managing plastic's afterlife should be placed on producers, who benefit the most from the production and consumption of plastic packaging. Japan and Taiwan, for instance, ensure producers either pay to use the local recycling infrastructure or establish their own collection routes. This encourages producers to cut down on recycling costs by including greener elements into packaging designs; and recyclers are properly funded to handle low-value scrap plastics. Governments also have responsibilities. We cannot rely solely on good will from businesses. Legislation should help drive the recovery and reuse of plastic waste and other secondary materials. The government must rethink the objectives of its regulatory framework, to enable a sustainable market and innovations in the industry. It is tempting to end with a list of what individuals can do, but just telling people to recycle more and use less plastic is not enough. Big problems sometimes require big solutions. People around the globe are demanding more responsible use of plastic. It is time for industries and governments to take action.

The best luggage for kids: what type is best? Kids ride-on luggage pros and cons of a ride-on suitcase for toddlers Toddler ride on luggage is a hit with most kids and a surpringly good and versatile solution for parents too. The one we used and loved is Truki (full review here). • They are quite spacious inside. You can find exactly how much they contain here • Great size for plane travel: they can be brought on board as children carry-on luggage and they just about fit under the seat in front of you • They close well and have a key securely attached to the strap • The strap makes them fun for the kids to pull: my kids are always more willing to walk if they have Trunki with them as they can pretend they are their little dog on the leash! • They are exceptional for road trips as they stack nicely in the car • They double up as a good toy box so storage when not travelling is easy They are quite bulky so while they are great if your child cooperates and accepts to pull them, they are uncomfortable if you have to carry both them and your toddler! It is very tempting to think that trunki could substitute a buggy for older children but, personally, I do not think this is the case. Trunki works well as a temporary child seat but pulling your child along on it is not recommended by the manufacturer and it is not particularly handy for the parent for more than a couple of minutes. Riding on it requires some legwork that a tired kid could get grumpy about (majour understatement for: epic meltdown) Overall evaluation: we findtoddler ride on luggage excellent and we do recommend it as children luggage, especially for road trips and plane journeys that do not require quick airport transfers. I am a fan of rucksacks and for my own travel I choose backpacks whenever I can. A good quality pack will evenly spread the weight on your back and will keep your hands free, which I find invaluable especially when travelling alone with kids and need to hold two little hands! I also find them useful for kids, especially for short trips. • They are less likely to be left behind as you can easily keep them on while waiting in airports, stations etc (be very careful with the weight of your child backpack, make sure it is light and appropriate in size) • They can be easily strapped onto your own if your child gets tired of carrying them • Great plane carry-on choice as easily stored under the seats • Usually smaller than suitcases, even a very light packer like me find kids backpacks only useful on very short trips • If not chosen with care and packed properly they might hurt your child back - choose good quality ones and be extra careful with how much you put in and how (find important info about this here). • Accessing objects at the bottom can be annoying so make sure you pack toys or anything you think your child might want to reach out for on top. Rolling luggage for kids: are kids suitcases worth it? Before I had children I thought wheeled bags were the best thing in the world. I did so many trips with them and found them so handy they were the first thing I bought for my kids when we started travelling with them. However, they did not prove quite as handy for family travel or at least, not in all circumstances. • Easy to pull for your child and easy to stack on top of yours if needed • Easier to pack than a backpack especially if you have odd shaped objects (toys) • Easy access (especially if compared with a traditional backpack) • Depending on size, they might not fit under plane seats, forcing you to get up every time your child needs anything from it (if your children are like mines, about 10 times per minute!). • Unless you have priority boarding you might be forced to check them in last minute - with kids, under seat storage is by far the best, I believe • Handles and wheels can break easily and it is worth investing in a good quality bag that you can use over and over again. Overall evaluation: I believe rolling suitcases are a great choice for older kids or if you do not like or cannot use backpacks. The best luggage for kids: kids travel bags top picks You can find our full list of toddler daysacks here. The one below is a selection of our favorites. With a Kikki Deuter you get: • Perfect as a day pack and weekends away I am a fan of Osprey backpacks and the one that is working best for our kids is the Osprey Daylite. This is an excellent day pack for children and works perfectly on weekends away too, thanks to its good size and sturdy materials. My daugher uses the smaller one, which is super handy for school, while my son has 'graduated' to the 18K one. They are both excellent: the large padded shoulder straps sit nicely on theor shoulders and the chest strap makes the backpack sit securly on their backs. Both models have good quality zips and great pockets - the 18K one also comes with a backpack cover which is super handy. RELATED: if you are interested in children travel backpacks, we have handpicked the best ones in different sizes here Best kids luggage on wheels: American Tourister Kids Luggage on wheels American Tourister kids luggage on wheels is the top selling brand on Amazon for both their soft-side and hard-side bags. Hardside luggage is particularly popular because of the added protection it offers and it is also great on road trips as it stacks nicely in the trunk of the car. Kids usually love these bags as they come in several colors and styles, inlcufing many with their favorite characters. • Printed polyester with vinyl front with a large selection of characters • Side-mounted skate wheels for mobility • Easy pull-handle/ • Large mesh pocket on interior panel. • Cross-straps. Cabin max bear children luggage carry on trolley suitcase comes with a clever addition: a seat for the teddy! (Please note: the teddy in the photo is not include!). As the name suggests, this is a great carry on travel bag for kids that you can keep in the cabin plane with you with all children essentials. Design Scheme of Multi-channel Voltage Measurement Based on Stm32
Design Scheme of Multi-channel Voltage Measurement Based on Stm32
This design proposes a design scheme of multi-channel voltage measurement based on STM32 chip, and the measurement range is between 0-10V. The built-in A / D of STM32 samples the multi-channel voltage values to obtain the corresponding digital quantity. Then the corresponding analog voltage value is obtained according to the proportional relationship between digital quantity and analog quantity, which is displayed by TFTLCD display equipment, and the multi-channel collected data is stored in SD card.1. IntroductionIn recent years, data acquisition and its application have attracted more and more attention, and data acquisition system has developed rapidly. It can be widely used in various fields.Data acquisition technology is one of the important branches of information science. Data acquisition is also a process of obtaining object information from one or more signals. Data acquisition is an important link in industrial control systems. It is usually realized by some single chip microcomputer systems with relatively independent functions. As an indispensable part of the measurement and control system, the performance characteristics of data acquisition directly affect the whole system.Voltage measurement is the most universal. It is of great significance to study and design methods and instruments to improve voltage measurement accuracy. In the design of voltage measurement, single chip microcomputer as controller is the core of the whole design. In addition, there must be an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in the design. ADC is used to directly collect analog voltage and convert analog signal into digital signal. It directly affects the accuracy and speed of data acquisition.2. System overviewThe microcontroller of this design adopts STM32 single chip microcomputer.STM32 Series MCU is designed based on the Cortex-M3 core of arm company. Its clock frequency reaches 72mhz. It is a high-performance product among similar products. It has the advantages of high performance, low cost and low power consumption. It is a good choice in embedded application design. The A / D converter in the design adopts STM32 built-in ADC. STM32 ADC is a 12 bit successive approximation analog-to-digital converter. It has up to 18 channels and can measure 16 external and 2 internal signal sources. The A / D conversion of each channel can be performed in single, continuous, scanning or intermittent mode. The conversion results can be stored in the 16 bit data register in left or right alignment. The maximum input clock can reach 14mhzThis design can measure the voltage value of 8 channels, the measurement range is 0-10V, and the display error is ± 0.001V. LCD displays the voltage value and waveform in real time, and microSD card synchronously stores the data. The system principle block diagram is shown in Figure 1.Design scheme of multi-channel voltage measurement based on stm323.3 LCD control circuitThe LCD used in this design is 2.4 inches, 320 & times; 240 resolution. The LCD module is controlled by the FSMC interface of STM32.FSMC (flexible static memory controller) can be changed into static storage controller. It is a unique storage control mechanism of STM32 series high storage density microcontroller with internal integration of flash of more than 256Kb and suffixes Xc, XD and Xe. By setting the special function register, FSMC can send corresponding data / address / control signal types according to different external memory types to match the speed of the signal, so that STM32 series microcontrollers can not only apply various external static memories of different types and speeds, Moreover, it can expand a variety of different types of static memory without adding external devices, so as to meet the comprehensive requirements of system design for storage capacity, product volume and cost.In STM32, one end of FSMC is connected to core Cortex-M3 through internal high-speed bus AHB, and the other end is an external bus for extended memory. After the access signal of the kernel to the external memory is sent to the AHB bus, it is converted into a signal conforming to the communication protocol of the external memory through the FSMC and sent to the corresponding pin of the external memory to realize the data interaction between the kernel and the external memory. FSMC acts as a bridge, which can not only convert the signal type, but also adjust the signal width and timing, so as to shield the differences of different storage types and make them no difference to the kernel.FSMC can connect devices such as nor / PSRAM / NAND / PC card, and has FSMC_ A [25:0] has 26 address buses and FSMC [15:0] has 16 data buses. In addition, the extended storage space of FSMC is divided into 8 blocks. Select the block of the operation through the address line. In this way, the LCD will operate as a memory with one address space.3.4 SD card drive circuitThe SD card used in this design is microSD, also known as TF card. MicroSD card is a very small flash memory card, which is mainly used in mobile phones. However, due to its small volume and the continuous improvement of storage capacity, it has been used in GPS devices, portable music players, digital cameras and some flash memory disks. The pin diagram of microSD card is shown in Figure 9.MicroSD card, like SD card, has SPI and SDIO operation buses. Compared with SDIO bus, SPI bus has simple interface, but its speed is slow. We use SDIO mode.MicroSD card has 4 data lines in SDIO mode.In fact, microSD has 1-wire mode and 4-wire mode in SDIO mode, that is, 1 or 4 data lines are used respectively. Of course, the speed of 4-wire mode is faster than that of 1-wire mode, but the operation is more complex. The 4-wire mode of SDIO is used in this design. The hardware connection diagram of microSD card is shown in Figure 3.STM32 MCU Chinese official websiteSTMicroelectronics / St / STM
How Does Temperature Affect the Speed of Sound?
How Does Temperature Affect the Speed of Sound?
As other answers show, the speed of sound is slightly influenced by temperature.Much more interesting is the influence of gradients in temperature! The usual distribution of temperature at different heights is: high at ground level, decreasing upwards. This profile, with slightly higher sound velocity at ground level causes wave fronts to curve upwards. Sometimes the temperature profile is inverse, from ground level to a certain height, in the order of hundreds of meters. This inversion layer acts as a reflector, causing sound to propagate over much larger distances. It is not the speed as such, but the differences in speed that have important influence on sound propagation.1. How to increase my running speed? No, leaping prime does now not make you a quicker runner. Speed is muscular so you will do whole frame paintings along side plyometrics, which can be exceptional varieties of bounding and leaping to construct explosive force. To get greater at going for walks you ought to run. If you are employed on lifting and doing the plyometrics you are going to have the groundwork to upgrade your going for walks. What form of going for walks are you running for? If it's soccer then you definitely will have to coach for brief bursts of velocity. If it's one other game you have got to appear on the distances required on your game. A huge aspect of velocity it response. That manner the begin. Whether it's out of the blocks in a race, or attending to a fly ball within the outfield. Speed is vigor so that you ought to be ready to loosen up rise up tall, maintain your elbows at ninety levels, swing them directly entrance to again, and now not throughout your frame. Land at the balls of your ft.2. Water flows through a 1.5 cm diameter pipe into a 275 liter bathtub, which it fills in 5 minutes. What is the speed of the water in the pipe?Mass of 275 litres of Water divided by 5 minutes x 60 seconds = Time of 300 secondsMass Flow Rate of 0.9166 litres per secondThis is excessive amount of water in Speed or Velocity to fill a bathtub in 300 seconds. See IPHE & CIBSE CoP & Technical Guidance on maximum flow rate for 15 mm smooth wall copper pipework. The water pressure is another factor is consider.Water flows through a 1.5 cm diameter pipe into a 275 liter bathtub, which it fills in 5 minutes. What is the speed of the water in the pipe?.3. Not getting the download speed I should be getting?you download a file to what ? a phone or a computer? ethernet or wirelessly ? you need to be more clear on how to ask a question, even with my godlike powers i cant read your mind4. Need help gaining speed/trimming fat?challenging task. browse in google. that will may help!5. Why are people so insistent that speed of light is constant for all observers and is the maximum traveling speed? In special relativity, when the speed of light is constant for everyone, time can be different. When different travellers or observers have light remain constant, their time can change to allow for this. So try to wrap your head around the fact that different observers can have differences in time, and this allows the speed of light to remain constant for all observers.6. fur nice fan motor Polly have to be smaller to make the fan go faster?Motor pulley larger or driven pulley smaller will increase speed7. What are the technical factors in a processor that determine its speed?Clock Speed of the Processor and its primary cache size determines its speed in terms of throughput8. Is faster than the speed of light possible?well ist just a theory so it could be or couldnt be true.....einstien said if we could go the speed of light then we cold time travel...other people say it is still expanding....what i want to know is how can all of that crap fit into somthing the size of a pin head lol.9. How to train for faster picking speed on guitar?Assuming we are talking about alternate picking, there are basically two exercise methods for building speed. The first and the better known one is to start slow. Set your metronome to a comfortable tempo and play the exercise a few times. Then go up 2 bpms or so and repeat. Continue alternating between plus two and minus one. Back down some 10 bpm when you hit your limit and work your way up from there again. You can go up 10 bpm or so from time to time just to see how it feels. The second one is to practice in bursts. Start with two notes and play as fast as you can. Then add the third and continue from there. This method is not as well known as the first one but is every bit as useful. You can also start from the most difficult spot on the exercise and add notes on both sides.Practicing scales only is probably not the best way to go. There are specially crafted exercise sets to build speed that isolate common patterns. Troy Stetina's book Speed Mechanics contains one such set.In terms of technique, on your left hand, only apply enough pressure to avoid buzz. You will get tired very quickly if you exert more force than necessary. The lighter your left hand touch is, the easier it is to play fast. It's easier said than done but that's the whole idea of practicing. On your right hand, I would not worry that much about wrist vs. elbow unless you are aiming for Guiness speed record. Wrist movement is probably a bit better but there's nothing wrong with a combination of wrist and elbow. Guitarists argue about it all the time but there are superb guitarists in both camps which proves that both techniques are equally viable. Just avoid finger movement, it does not work for fast playing

For instance many big cities may have "WiFi Hotspots". If you are in these WiFi Hotspots and you have your laptop or any other device that can connect to the internet wirelessly, you can surf the web wirelessly as long as you are in that particular area. And Blu-Ray is Sony's High Definition format disc. The difference between Blu-Ray and Regular DVD is that Blu-Ray can produce 1080p HD quality picture and Blu-Ray can hold more data. A Single Layer Blu-Ray disc can hold 25GB and a Dual Layer DVD can hold 50GB. A standard DVD can only hold around 8.5GB total. Basically if you have a HDTV, Blu-Ray would be the best choice for getting the best picture quality with clear, crisp viewing quality.
Which Is Better, WiFi Or ZigBee Wireless Technology
Which Is Better, WiFi Or ZigBee Wireless Technology
Wireless replacing wired has become an irreversible trend, which can also be said to be a new industry. At present, there are two technical camps of ZigBee and WiFi in the field of smart home, and WiFi and ZigBee have their own advantages in wireless technology. Among the most popular wireless technologies in the industry, WiFi technology and ZigBee technology are the most worthy of competition. So which is more advantageous, WiFi or ZigBee? Who will become the mainstream in the future? This is worth discussing.WiFi: WiFi technology is the fastest transmission technology at present. The product cost is low and it is more popular in current life. However, the devices that can be connected with WiFi are limited. The actual scale of adding WiFi network to devices generally will not exceed 16. In the development of, the number of switches, lighting and home appliances will certainly be far more than 16, so WiFi has its advantages, but it has great limitations, Limited development.ZigBee is a two-way wireless communication technology with low complexity, high security and short-range transmission. It has the characteristics of strong scalability and can be embedded in various household devices. ZigBee also has advantages in security.1. The future smart home network will be a smart network, which can sensitively perceive the changes of data and traffic of each node; Be able to intelligently allocate, repair and deal with network resources; It has the attribute of "self-learning and self-organization".. However, in the practical application of families, switches, lighting, curtains, anti-theft devices, etc. will not move after installation.2. ZigBee supports up to 65000 nodes, but can WiFi connect more than 100 devices? The answer is No. So large capacity is good. For example, LVMI smart home, that is, Xiaomi's smart home brand, basically supports ZigBee protocol. When it comes to LVMI, I recommend their smart gateway. The smart home market is very messy. Sometimes we are excited to buy it and find that it does not support it. Therefore, when we buy it, we should see what the device supports or does not support. Of course, the best thing is to buy a gateway with high compatibility. LVMI's gateway product not only supports ZigBee protocol, but also is compatible with homekit. This product supports 32 aqara devices of green rice, which can be connected with Apple's "home" app. After that, it can control the associated devices on IOS devices and Siri directly. I think most young people now use fruit machines to compare prices. In this way, it is still very friendly to most IOS users. For fruit powder users, the biggest advantage of this product is price. At present, the smart home products supporting homekit on Apple's official website are very expensive. Even a simple smart socket costs 295 yuan. Through the aqara gateway of LVMI, the cost of access equipment can be reduced.Well, comprehensive comparison, WiFi is relatively more convenient, but ZigBee will be more stable and support more devices. If you only want to use one or two smart devices, WiFi can be used. If you want to create a complete set of smart home ecological chain, it is obvious that ZigBee is more in line with your requirements. Xiaobian is more optimistic about ZigBee. After all, home is developing towards the trend of comprehensive intelligence, Technology with multiple devices can ensure this. No matter what kind of technology, we hope to constantly update and improve, and making our products convenient is the king.
