I Am on My Boat now and It Wont Start. the Horn Does Not Ever Work! What Should I Do?

Hang around long enough for the solar panels or wind generator (if fitted!) to put some charge back enough to start up, while taking care to avoid anyone using any auxiliary circuits; or better still, see if you can get a kind fellow-boater to help you with a 'jump start'! If necessary, by lending you a battery for a few minutes in the absence of long enough jump leads. If it is an outboard, remove the engine cover to check if the flywheel has a groove and notch for emergency starting with a lanyard - tie a figure-of-eight knot in a piece of suitable length and diameter (say 1.5m × 6mm) and cut or hot-knife the end off flush with the knot. And be sure that the ignition is turned on, neutral is selected and the emergency stop switch lanyard is fitted - these are often overlooked when not starting up in the normal way. If all else fails but you have a tender that has an outboard engine, raft-up the tender securely alongside your boat, with springs run tight fore and aft together with bow and stern lines (also tight) and start the little engine. You should be able to steer a decent course with the normal rudder from aboard the casualty. When you arrive back at your berth, maneuver the casualty back into or onto the mooring using the tender and oars. When towing to a mooring, always moor the boat you are aboard, first. At the very least, with one line. Then you are all secure and can attend to the safe mooring of the tow, at leisure. -|--)

How to fix the screw protruding from the engine in a 2007 Toyota corolla (holds engine cover)?

Those engine covers they put on now are really bad and should be left off. The last thing anyone should do is to cover the hot engine in insulating plastic covers.

I've no engine cover because a truck ran over it, and I have the undercarriage cover at a friend's house. Should I replace them? What is the function of the undercarriage cover? The car is a legacy GT 2005 of the site do not see these ads. Registered users of the site do not see these ads. of the site do not see these ads. Registered users of the site do not see these ads. Engine cover is not important. Undercarriage cover helps keep out road debris, dirt, grime, and provides a slight aerodynamic advantage. To protect wires, tubing, piping, and etc from when your car bottoms out. Necessary? Not exactly--but I would recommend it. Heck in the 2015 wrx, the turbo is mounted under the engine. It looks like there's a beefy metal brace/plate that protects it from bottoming out, along with the skid plates It's a good idea to have it on. Rule of thumb is if they put it on the car, it should stay on. If it costs them $5 per car to put on and they sell 400k a year that's $2mil just on the covers. If they are spending that much you better believe they think it's worth it. Engine cover, no, not necessary. Plastic skid plate thingy. meh, it's nice to have. No one likes a stick hitting their axle boot. Mine kept falling off over and over, once on the highway and dragging. I've left it off now for about a year. No real ill effects. I hear there is a pressure drop when it comes to the intercooler though. Negligible I bet. Food for thought, the older 2.5RS and L never came with any undercarriage plastic protection. Removing it if it falls off is not the end of the world. I was just wondering in terms of engine cooling if they have any effect.
